Emotional Health
Just as our physical health requires cultivation through good nutrition, rest and exercise, our emotional health requires us to use our imagination and our thinking skills resourcefully and to de-clutter our bodies of emotional baggage. The past is to be learned from, not lived in.
Maintenance of an emotional garden is a process of weeding and planting. During our lifetimes, many practical and effective techniques have been created, discovered or developed from within mainstream psychology and the complementary therapies to free us from the weeds of anxiety, anger, depression and fear.
Effective therapy utilises our mind and body's natural learning states so that alone, or guided by a therapist, we are enabled to weed and plant our gardens.
Particularly effective are the simple and empowering Emotional Freedom Techniques which anyone can learn in a few days. When we combine EFT with the enlightened, commonsense ideas of the Human Givens Approach we bring to emotional healing: contemporary scientific understanding of trauma; ancient knowledge of how our bodies function; and everyday common sense.
